They are fresh and classed as a freezer bait, which means they are far tastier than other pop-up baits, without having to be filled with artificial flavourings.
Being fresh pop-ups, they leak attractants better than any shelf-like bait may strive to achieve. The secret to them is the inclusion of our Pop-up Pixie Dust sold in our bait making section. This means they are as tasty and effective as our standard paste and bottom baits.
Furthermore, unlike the majority of pop-ups on the shelves of your local fishing shop, these remain buoyant at depths of over 20 foot down. Standard pop-ups become negatively buoyant at around a 6 foot depth.

So what makes our boilies so very different?
To explain this, let us first explain how other boilies are made. The bulk of a standard boilie is made up of the base mix. The base mix is generally tasteless. Nuts, seeds and flavourings are then added to make the boilie more attractive to the fish. The taste (and therefore effectiveness) is largely absorbed by the base mix, creating a diluted end product.
Our boilies however, are made in a very different way. In fact, comparing normal boilies to ours is like comparing a fairground beef burger to a succulent, tasty steak. So how do we achieve this?
Simply, we do not 'flavour' our boilies. The base mix of our boilies are the flavours . We use a very clever protein binder to hold them together, accounting for less than 5% of the makeup of the boilie.
For instance, our Peanut boilie is more or less pure ground roasted peanut, held together with fresh free range eggs and this powerful binder & not an artificial flavouring in sight. Overall, a much tastier proposition for a fish!
Additionally, we also inject a little extra wizardry into all of our boilies by incorporating Fool-a-Fish technology into the mix. This smart, Internationally patented and proven innovation, makes the bait more visible to fish by reflecting UV light (which fish use to see in dark water) from thousands of tiny crystals (in the same way sun block reflects UV rays from the body), creating a 'disco ball' effect.
Furthermore, two of our boilies (Original and Marine Halibut & Hemp) contain Carp Pheromones, a fishy smelling additive which has been proven to stimulate feeding in fish using their subconscious built in trigger mechanisms. This product is used in the commercial fishing sectors of UK, Japan and worldwide.
